Naval Air Station Brunswick is proud to present the 2008 Great State of
Maine Air Show! The men and women of NAS Brunswick are working hard to
bring you the finest in thrilling aerial displays and family
entertainment. Mark you calendars for September 6th and 7th and get
here early because you won't want to miss a minute of this action packed
show. This year, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team
will electrify the crowd with their precision formation flying and
high-speed opposing maneuvers. World renown Hall of Fame inductee Patty
Wagstaff will thrill the crowd in her Extra 300. Sergei Boriak and
Randy Harris will fill the sky with heart-pounding action as they race
Neal Darnell in his Jet Powered Truck, Flash Fire, and combine to form
Team Chaos. There will also be performances by Greg Shelton and
Wingwalker Ashley Battles, John Mohr, Andy Anderson and the Dan Bucanan.
The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team will delight and amaze the
crowd and Megasaurus will fill the sky with smoke and thunder. You'll
also see stunning tactical demonstrations by U.S. Navy and U.S. Air
Force aircraft, as well as the USAF Heritage Flight. Be sure to check
the "Performers" and "Static Display" sections frequently as we update
the power-packed line-up of military hardware and equipment as well as
civilian performers and aircraft. The show promises to provide a full
weekend of non-stop action and entertainment for the whole family to
enjoy.

Head out to NAS Brunswick early and beat the crowds. Witness daring
aerial displays throughout the day culminating in the precision
formation aerobatics of the US Navy Blue Angels.

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM On September 6th and 7th, 2008 Westover Air Reserve Base will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve by hosting THE GREAT NEW ENGLAND AIR SHOW, This two day family oriented event will feature the United States Air Force Thunderbirds precision aerial demonstration team, the spectacular U. S. Army Golden Knights parachute team and an array of our country’s finest military aircraft, in the air and on the ground. You will also see aerial and ground demonstrations of vintage "warbird" aircraft as well as the best civilian aerobatic and pyrotechnic performers. There is guaranteed to be something for everyone.
Admission and parking is free at THE GREAT NEW ENGLAND AIR SHOW. Coolers, bags (except diaper and camera bags) and backpacks are prohibited.
Gates open at 8:00 AM and the flightline at 8:30 AM
In the event of rain some flying demonstrations may have to be cancelled. However, unless the weather poses a serious threat to the safety of the visitors and participants the show will proceed as scheduled. |

WACO Fly In 2008 Waco Field Airport Troy, Ohio, USA |
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM This year's WACO Vintage Fly-In, scheduled for September 19, 20 & 21 is sure to be a memorable experience for all who attend and enjoy the WACOS and other vintage airplanes expected for the Fly–In from all parts of the United States to Historic WACO Field in Troy.
This year's theme, "Preserving the Past....Inspiring the Future!" will be showcased at the educational family orientated nostalgic aviation event.
Bright and early Saturday morning many pilots will be flying in to Historic WACO Field to showcase their vintage aircraft. A pancake breakfast will be held from 7-10:30am featuring the famous "Chris Cakes" flying pancakes . WACO pilots will provide WACO rides in their beautiful open cockpit biplanes September 19 through September 21 and ride tickets can be purchased all three days at Historic WACO Field .
The WACO Museum's Aviation Learning Center tent, where hands on activities including paper airplanes, rockets, helicopters and much more are always favorites for young people of all ages. Browse the Community Tent where area non-profits will have table top displays providing information about their organizations. New this year is an Aviation Fly-Market where restorers can purchase aircraft parts to keep vintage aircraft flying.
WACO Fly-In admission is $5.00 for adults and is free to students 18years and under, parking is free . Admission to the WACO Fly-In also includes entry to the recently moved WACO Museum that showcases new and expanded exhibits including the WACO primary glider, 1902 Wright Brothers Glider replica, the WACO 4, the WACO Cootie replica, the Mackey Taperwing, and a WACO UPF-7. Many spectacular photo murals grace the walls of the 7500 square foot facility. Additional exhibits feature some of the thousands of rare WACO photographs held by the WACO Historical Society and numerous WACO factory and WWII WACO combat glider artifacts and photos. The museum also features 10 WACO RC models, some interactive displays, a museum theater /classroom, numerous WACO and other vintage aircraft scale models, radial aircraft engines, vintage propellers, a museum archive library and a museum gift shop you will want to explore.
Plan to attend the Annual WACO Banquet featuring a silent and live fundraising auction event at Historic WACO Field where fabulous items be auctioned off as a fundraiser for The WACO Historical Society. The WACO Historical Society Inc, founded in 1978, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, and operates Historic WACO Field, an authentic grass airstrip, located at 1865 S. County Rd. 25A, 2 miles North of I-75 exit #69,South at 1865 S. County Rd.25-A, Troy, Ohio. The WACO Aircraft Company, located in Troy, produced open cockpit, cabin and glider aircraft from 1923-1946 and at one time was the largest manufacturer of aircraft in the United States. |
